Dementia support

A dementia diagnosis can come as a shock to the person with the condition and those around them. It’s natural to worry about the future, but it is important to remember that you’re not alone. The NHS, social services and voluntary organisations will be able to provide advice and support.

If the person you care for has ongoing medical care needs, they may qualify for free NHS continuing care, which will be assessed by NHS staff.

Crossroads Care Coventry & Warwickshire’s mission is to support carers by direct help and to customise our services to the individual needs of our service users. Crossroads will offer a service which empowers and enriches the quality of life of both the carer and the person they care for.

Home based respite care

This is when a carer support worker comes to your home and takes the place of the carer for an agreed time to give the carer a break.

Overnight services

This is when a care support worker comes to you home and stays overnight usually 10pm to 7am and provides whatever personal care support is needed. This then allows the carer to have an undisturbed night’s sleep

Community based services

This is when the service is provided in the community. The person with care needs is supported to access community activities of their choice which enhances their quality of life and well being.

Domestic service

This is a service to support those people who, for whatever reason, find carrying out essential domestic tasks difficult. We provide an hourly based service on request. Crossroads also provides specialist services to people recovering from a stroke, to people with dementia and a palliative care service.
